Zwartkops

Laid out on the farm Zwartkop. This land was purchased by Daniel Jacobus Erasmus in 1841. The farm Zwartkop was acquired by the Government in 1920. The area now is occupied by the Swartkop Air Force Base, the oldest air force base in SA which was established in April 1921. 
Wierda Bridge
Wierda Bridge – cnr Old Johannesburg Rd and Wierda Rd, Eldoraigne – The bridge crosses the Six Miles Spruit. It takes its name from Sytze Wierda, architect and Chief of Public Works of the ZAR. Built in 1891 the contractor was JJ Kirkness. This steel bridge was erected and was made by the Actiengesellschaft fur Eisenindustrie und Bruckenbau of Duisberg in Germany. Imported by the firm Harkort of Duisberg. Proclaimed a National Monument on 10 December 1965.
South African Air Force Memorial
South African Air Force Memorial - dedicated in memory of those who gave their lives in the service of the South African Air Force. Unveiled by the State President Mr CR Swart on 1 September 1963.
