ZEERUST
It was laid out in1867 on the farm Hazenjacht, formerly Sebatlani. Proclaimed in 1880 and acquired municipal status in 1936. The name is derived from Coetzee-Rust, ’Coetzee’s rest, after the owner of the farm, Diederik J Coetzee.
• St John the Baptist Church
• St John the Baptist Church, Voortrekker st– Built circa 1873. In 1892 the thatched roof was replaced, and the altar was added in 1915. This was the third Anglican Church to be built in the Transvaal. The ground was donated in 1886 by Diederik Jacob Coetzee, founder of Zeerust. Two bells were ordered by the Reformed church of Jacobsdal near the town from Holland and one was donated to this church. Proclaimed a national monument on 20 November 1970.

Railway Station
• Railway Station – Dated 1921 – On 5 July 1907 the line from Krugersdorp to Zeerust was opened. The building burned down in 2019.
Burgher Monument
• Burgher Monument – cnr H Potgieter and Forsman St – this heritage park houses the Burgher monument. Original tombstones are built into the wall. It commemorates burghers who have died in the 2nd ABW. Referring to the Battle of Lichtenburg on 3 March 1901, Battle of Buffelshoek on 16 August 1901 and the Battle of Kleinfontein on 24 October 1901 and some others. They were all reinterred here.
