Laid out on the farm Doornfontein and proclaimed on 21 June 1904. Took its name from Malvern in Worcestershire England.

Tram Terminus Building, 546B Jules cnr Cleveland Rd – this building was built in 1911. The single-track tramlines was running from Johannesburg all along Jules street to almost the end of Malvern.
