LEEU-GAMKA
It was known as Fraserburg Road. Named Leeuw-Gamka in Dutch. The name is Leeu (Afrikaans for lion) and Gamka being Khoikhoi for ‘lion river’. It refers to the confluence of the Leeu and Gamka rivers.
Dutch Reformed Church
Dutch Reformed Church – The foundation stone was laid in 1922. This building is now used as a church hall.
Railway Station
Railway Station – the railway line was constructed in 1880.
Blockhouse
Blockhouse – this blockhouse is at the bridge where the railway line crosses the Leeuw river. It was to protect the bridge and formed a link in the chain of blockhouses that ran from Wellington to Beaufort West. Known as an Elliot Wood Pattern Blockhouse. In ruins
