Bergville

Laid out on the farm Klein Waterval in 1895 and named in 1903. The name refers to its situation at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains, popularly known as The Berg. It attained municipal status in 1961.
Blockhouse
Blockhouse – Magistrate’s Court grounds, Sharp st - Built during the latter part of the Anglo Boer war (1899-1902) by the British troops. It served as a link in Natal against the incursion of the Boers. This blockhouse is unique in SA. Built at ground level and surrounded by an earthwork embankment. Declared a National Monument on 23 April 1971.
