BEREA

Laid out on the farm Doornfontein in 1893 and named after the Berea in Durban. The name is of biblical origin and refers to the Macedonian town which had an excellent view.
Fire Station
Fire Station, 2 Mitchell St- The foundation stone was laid on 15 October 1910 by Mrs DW Sims. This was the period when fire engines were horse drawn.
Barnato Gates
Barnato Gates, Barnato Park School, cnr Fyfe St & Park Lane – Three gates remained. This area was originally laid out as a park by Barney Barnato. The gates were erected in 1897. 1897.
